B-F master taster Marianna Barnes landed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for Food & Dining.

We reported yesterday on the handful of Louisvillians who made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the Manufacturing & Industry category, and now we’d like to congratulate Marianne Barnes, Brown-Forman’s master taster, who landed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the Food & Drink group.

Barnes, 28, tells Insider she received a personal email from the author of the article and is thrilled to have been selected.

“I am so proud to know that my hard work and accomplishments are being noticed by more than just my family and friends,” she says. “Working hard to excel is something that comes very natural to me. I’m not a very competitive person, but it feels amazing to have achieved this recognition and represent the future of the bourbon industry.”

Barnes, who holds a degree in chemical engineering, says she knew she was up for consideration but never thought she’d be chosen.

“When I received the email letting me know I had gotten a spot on the list, it was an
incredible rush of pride and awe,” she says.
