It’s shaping up to be another busy weekend for Louisvillians, but if you can fit in a stop at the eighth annual Butchertown Art Fair, it’ll be well worth your time. More than 100 vendors will set up along the 800 and 900 blocks of East Washington Street on Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5.

Along with the usual arts and crafts, you can expect food trucks, children’s activities, street performers, live music (see schedule below), drinks and lots more.

Butchertown2This year’s nonprofit partner is Butchertown’s Hildegard House, which provides compassion and care to people at the end of their lives who have no loved ones. Attendees are encouraged to bring disposable items like toothbrushes, deodorant and personal hygiene products to donate.

As always, the Butchertown Art Fair is free and open to all. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. Proceeds from booth rentals benefit the Butchertown Neighborhood Association, which helps preserve the history and cultural diversity of the historic neighborhood.
