The likelihood of severe weather on Sunday has prompted the Louisville Independent Business Alliance to postpone its annual Buy Local Fair. The event now will be held Sunday, July 2, at the Louisville Water Tower, its usual location.

There is a threat of rain all weekend, with an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms on Sunday.

“Since the Fair is an outdoor event, the LIBA team has been keeping a very close eye on the weather forecast for this weekend, and the safety of our members, patrons and vendors is our primary concern,” said LIBA director Jennifer Rubenstein in a press release. “We truly apologize for any inconvenience the date change causes, however, we hope everyone will save the new date for the Buy Local Fair on July 2!”

The Buy Local Fair features over 180 booths from an array of local businesses, artists, nonprofits and farmers. There also will be food and drink vendors, including a craft beer tent, live music, and cooking and cocktail competitions. This is the first year for the “Drink Local Craft Cocktail Competition,” where local bartenders will create unique cocktails and attendees can vote.
The rescheduled fair takes place Sunday, July 2, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Louisville Water Tower, 3005 River Road. Admission is free, though parking is $5 per vehicle.
