Want more proof that bourbon is saturating the market? It’s seeping into daytime television on Wednesday, April 20, when Castle & Key master distiller Marianne Barnes appears on the “Steve Harvey” show.

As you might have heard, Castle & Key is the new name of the former Old Taylor Distillery in Frankfort, and Barnes was named its master distiller nearly a year ago, making her the first female master distiller in Kentucky since at least Prohibition.

Barnes recently traveled to Chicago to tape the episode as part of Harvey’s “Female Groundbreaker” segment on the nationally syndicated talk show. The TV personality and comedian covers many topics on his show, which is much more “real people, real issues” based than focusing on celebrity interviews.

Barnes tells Insider that Harvey was as funny and genuine as you might expect — and he seemed personally invested in the topic of high-end spirits.

“He’s very knowledgeable about high-dollar scotch,” she says. “And I always love the opportunity to talk about Kentucky and our specialty — bourbon.”

The episode will air at 3 p.m. on WLKY on Wednesday, April 20.
