When it’s as cold as it is now, any blip of heat on our radar is a welcome relief. Thanks to the organizers of Forecastle Festival, we bring you this heat wave of news.
The initial lineup for the 16th annual Louisville music festival has been announced, and here it is: Chris Stapleton, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, T-Pain, Courtney Barnett, Jimmy Eat World, Jenny Lewis, Margo Price …
Are you warm yet?
OK, let’s throw some logs on the fire with Houndmouth, The War on Drugs, Father John Misty, Vance Joy, NF, Kurt Vile and the Violaters, Louis the Child, Punch Brothers, Vic Mensa, Rainbow Kitten Surprise and I’m With Her.
The full lineup can be viewed online, and of course they’ll be adding musicians to the list throughout the next couple months.
Tickets for the three-day festival, held July 13-15 at Waterfront Park, go on sale Friday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. Weekend passes start at $149.50.
New this year is a Yacht Club ticket option that includes access to the nearby Mary M. Miller Steamboat that’ll have an exclusive bar, one-of-a-kind experiences and special entry lanes into the fest. And all the usual amenities of Forecastle — from the Bourbon Lodge to the Kentucky Landing — will be back.
And on Wednesday, Jan. 17 (that’s tonight, folks), Forecastle is teaming up with Against the Grain to reveal “The Local Lineup” at Mercury Ballroom. Performers include Bite My Wire (Doors tribute band), Good Fellas (Ramones tribute band) and DJ Sam Sneed, and doors open at 8 p.m.
