Talk about great jobs… Bernie Lubbers wrote the book “Bourbon Whiskey – Our Native Spirit” and is also the Ambassador for American Whisky for Heaven Hill Distillery. He’s known as “the Whiskey Professor.”
Before you start Googling Ph.D. programs in Whiskey Science, I’m pretty sure that it’s an honorary title.
Lubbers will be featured as the special guest speaker at Varanese Restaurant’s “Evolution of Bourbon Dinner” on Thu., Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m. The evening will feature a four-course dinner with Heaven Hill bourbon pairings for $49 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
The menu, prepared by Owner and Chef John Varanese, for the evening is as follows:
Reception Cocktail – Mellow Corn Sazarac
Flight: Mellow Corn Whiskey – JW Dant – Fighting Cock – Larceny
Slow Braised Berkshire Pork Belly and Gulf Shrimp with Roasted Corn Butter Sauce, Hominy and Snow Pea Tendrils
Warm Heirloom Beet and Frisée Salad tossed in Orange and Hazelnut Vinaigrette with Toasted Crostini and Goat Cheese Ice Cream
