Fresh off an appearance on the Discovery Channel’s “Moonshiners,” Louisville’s own Moonshine University is adding a few more classes.

Because making whiskey isn’t as simple as it looksDistilled Spirits Epicenter, an international distilling center located in downtown, offers Moonshine University, where visitors study the methods used to derive, hone and layer flavors, according to DSE’s website.

And because it is illegal to distill alcohol without a permit, the Season 3 opener of “Moonshiners” Nov. 5 had one star leaving to go “legit,” and two others traveling to Louisville to spend some time with the experts.74

Josh and Bill, who hail from the Carolinas, spent a day soaking up advice from the knowledgable instructors at Moonshine U.
