The sixth annual NuLu Fest is the place to be Saturday as the community flocks to East Market Street to celebrate all things local, including goods, services, music, food and beer. Each year the street festival gets bigger and bigger, and if Saturday’s music lineup is any indication, it’s going to be the biggest and baddest yet.
The full schedule is posted below, but highlights include the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, Billy Goat Strut Revue, the Nick Dittmeier Band and The Debauchees. Live music will continue all day long at the free festival. And we hear there will even be live pole vaulting demonstrations by a company called Vault in the Ville. Who knew?
Adding to the music and Olympic activities are all the usual suspects — Maker Faire Louisville, beer from the Louisville Beer Store, wine from Old 502 Winery, cocktails from Copper And Kings, food from restaurants that line East Market, along with food trucks, a Kid’s Corner and lots, lots more. Take a gander at this map to see what all is in store.
Since Insider Louisville is located in the heart of NuLu, we’ll have our own table where you can meet writers, buy beer for writers, and grab some IL swag. Our own Kevin Gibson will be selling and signing his latest book, “Louisville Beer: Derby City History on Draft,” from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (“ish,” he says).
