Colin Shearn, noted bartender from The Franklin Mortgage Investment Co. in Philadelphia, has moved to Louisville to become bar manager position at sister its establishment, St. Charles Exchange.

According to a news release, while general manager at The Franklin, the bar was recognized as one of the country’s best by Esquire, GQ, and Bon Appétit. In July, it was featured in Playboy as one of “America’s Best Bars.”

“I’m coming to Louisville at a fortuitous time. It’s quickly becoming one of the major players on a national level in the world of cocktails,” Shearn said. “I’m excited for this opportunity and thrilled to be a part of it all.”

A native of Princeton, N.J., Shearn is a self-taught barman who got his start slinging beers and shots at his neighborhood bar, The Alchemist & Barrister.
