Let’s face it: Santa Claus could stand to be more active than just one night a year.

Iroquois Park will be teeming with Santas on Saturday as the Go Santa Go 5K takes over the trails. The run/walk race is a benefit for Gilda’s Club Louisville and is geared toward all ages and all levels of fitness.

Participants are encouraged to form a team and dress in Santa or elf attire, because awards will be given to the best dressed. The first 25 to register will receive a swag bag, and everyone who races will get a Santa or elf shirt and hat. And racers must walk or run — sleighs and reindeer are prohibited.

Admission is $40 if you register by Dec. 9, or $50 the day of. The 5K begins at 9 a.m.

All proceeds benefit Gilda’s Club, a local nonprofit that provides support to those living with cancer.
