The Fairness Campaign‘s annual fundraiser and cocktail party, “Fairness Over Louisville,” will be held at Play this Saturday, Sept. 13. Celebrating LGBT rights in Kentucky, the party will feature a fashion and runway show by C. Caswell Style and an address by former Miss Kentucky, Djuan Trent, who recently came out on her blog.

Other notable names in attendance will include Congressman John Yarmuth and Louisville Metro Councilwomen Tina Ward-Pugh and Attica Scott.

I definitely think folks can expect a celebration,” says Fairness director Chris Hartman. “There have been so many victories for LGBT rights in Kentucky in the past year — we’ve more than doubled the number of cities with anti-discrimination Fairness laws across the commonwealth, received two historic federal court rulings for marriage equality, and achieved the first-ever hearing of Kentucky’s statewide Fairness law in the General Assembly. The momentum is growing, and I think ‘Fairness Over Louisville’ will help capture that excitement.”
