Ice, Ice, Baby ... Too cold, too cold.
Ice, Ice, Baby … Too cold, too cold.

Alright stop, collaborate and listen. Ice (& Co.) is back for a brand new edition of “We Love the 90s” — simply subtitled: “Part Deux” — on Saturday, July 9, at Mercury Ballroom. Vanilla Ice will be joined by ’90s jammers C+C Music Factory featuring Freedom Williams and Quad City DJ’s.

Earlier this year, similar tour promoters gave Louisvillians thirsty for a ’90s throwback concert a tall drink of Salt-N-Pepa, Kool Moe Dee, Rob Base, Color Me Badd, All 4 One, Tone Loc and Young MC. This time, the list has been pared down quite a bit, but all three acts are guaranteed to make you sweat till you bleed on the dance floor. The mere combination might harken you back to the days of junior high talent shows and neon Hypercolor T-shirts.

Naturally, Vanilla Ice takes top billing at the soiree, and we’re hoping for an extended version of his “Ninja Rap.” C+C Music Factory topped the early ’90s charts with hits like “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” and “Things That Make You Go Hmmm,” while Quad City DJ’s scored later in the decade with “C’mon N’ Ride It (The Train).”

Tickets for the 18+ show are $30, and there’s currently a Groupon that’ll bring the price down to $25. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Umbros and a spritz of Malibu Mist are encouraged. If only we could bring back Zima for the night. Sigh.
