Consider Poorcastle an aperitif for next weekend’s Forecastle. While the two events are unrelated, there’s obviously a faint connection in name alone, and the intentions behind the former are to celebrate local musicians all weekend long at an affordable price.

The fourth annual Poorcastle takes over Apocalypse Brew Works once again this weekend, July 8-10, featuring more than 30 bands, beer, food trucks, raffles and games — all for $5 per day or $10 for a weekend pass.

The annual event is put on by a crew of volunteers who are either fans of or part of Louisville’s music scene, and the all-ages affair starts at 2:30 p.m. each day. Dogs are welcome, as are chairs, blankets and coolers of non-alcoholic drinks. All proceeds go to various nonprofits in the community.

Below is the full schedule, so pick your favorites and grab a pint of Apocalypse’s delicious Watermelon Crack beer.
