It’s hard to get in an outdoorsy kind of mood when it seems to rain every other day, but the 10-day forecast says that Saturday, May 18 will be sunny and in the lower-80’s.
And that makes it a perfect day to spend a little time in the forest.
Della Mae, a five-woman bluegrass band, will release its second album, This World Oft Can Be, at the end of the month. The album was recorded at Cash Cabin Studio, Johnny Cash’s former recording base, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, with guitarist Bryan Sutton as the album’s producer.

Ehrler’s Ice Cream will be selling sweet treats and Shack in the Back Barbeque and Get it on a Bun at Booty’s will be grilling and smoking. Bring a blanket, bring a chair, but no alcoholic beverages. “Well behaved dogs” are welcome, but keep Fido on a leash, according to the laws. The event is free, but parking is $10 a carload.
Children’s activities will be available from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., including live nature demonstrations and art demonstrations. Vendors will have arts and crafts for sale from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. The event ends at 7 p.m.
