Just add beer.

How do you lure several hundred people into one room on a Saturday night to help raise funds for a good cause? Feed them bacon, bourbon and beer, of course. The second annual B3 Bash will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Mellwood Art Center, and all proceeds benefit Kosair Charities.

More than 5,000 pieces of bacon will be served up by 13 local chefs who will create a tasty treat out of the already tasty breakfast food. From Chef James Lucas of Silver Dollar and Chef Al Sims of Bourbon Raw to Chef Matt Durham of the Seelbach and Chef Tori Edwards of Marric’s Catering, big names from Louisville’s culinary scene will be on hand to create things like chocolate covered bacon and bourbon and beer marshmallows rolled in bacon, chocolate and pretzels. Shoo.

Beverage sponsors include Maker’s Mark, West Sixth and Old 502 Winery, so attendees can wash everything down with bourbon cocktails, craft beer or several types of wine. Add live music by Tony and the Tan Lines and a silent auction of various items and activities, and this is one party not to miss.

The B3 Bash runs from 6-11 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Mellwood Art Center, 1860 Mellwood Ave. Tickets are $80 and include unlimited servings of the bacon creations and beverages, plus free valet parking. And remember, it’s all for a good cause.
