Alas, the Oktoberfest season is upon us, so it’s time to raise a glass of German-style beer and give in to the “Duck Dance.” On Wednesday, Sept. 23, the German-themed restaurant at Fourth Street Live, Gordon Biersch, is offering patrons a chance to celebrate for a good cause: All proceeds from the sale of their Blonde Bock benefit StageOne Family Theatre — and you can grab a pint for $3 from 6-9 p.m. that evening.

This is the inaugural “Pints for 1/2 Pints” fundraiser, and the brewery/restaurant will hold similar events for local charities throughout the year. StageOne serves more than 80,000 children and families throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana by introducing them to the arts at no cost.

“We are thrilled to partner with StageOne, which uses theater to educate and inspire the children of our community,” says Gordon Biersch’s GM Jason Smith.

Along with the discounted beer, folks from Stage One will be in attendance selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a bottomless growler (a free fill-up once a week for six months) as well as a StageOne “Family Pass,” which gets you into all of this season’s productions: “The BFG (Big Friendly Giant),” “A Year with Frog and Toad,” “And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank,” and “Harold and the Purple Crayon.”

Gordon Biersch is located at 400 S. Fourth St. The event on Wednesday, Sept. 23, is free and runs 6-9 p.m.
