Commonwealth Credit Union is teaming up with Shred-it to host their first ever Community Shred Day in Louisville on July 13, from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium next to Card March.

Community Shred Day Events are free and open to the public, providing the opportunity to safely dispose of any unneeded financial or personal records. The limit of items to be shredded is no more than 5 “storage” boxes per vehicle. Business records will not be accepted for shredding.

During the event, Commonwealth Credit Union will be collecting new books for the Louisville Metro Police Foundation’s Books and Badges. These books will be given to children ages 10 and under throughout the community to set a strong foundation of literacy at a young age. The first 300 people who come through the shred/donation line will receive a ticket for a free treat of lemonade, cotton candy, or one sno cone.

Louisville City FC, Buddy the Bat, and other vendors will be available during this event. The public will also have an opportunity to enter a Text to Win contest for tickets to a Louisville City FC soccer game or Louisville Bats baseball game.
