Whether you’re searching for a new designer home yourself or just interested in viewing stunning homes with unique features, you can find what you’re looking for at the Norton Commons Welcome Home Tour & Design Show. The show opens May 18 and runs through June 2 at the community’s geothermal North Village in the East End of Louisville. The open hours will be Wednesdays and Fridays, from 4 pm to 8 pm, Saturdays and Sundays, 12 pm to 6 pm. Tickets, which are for a single entry, are $15.

This one-of-a-kind home show will offer a tour of 12 new, fully furnished homes. Susan Graf, Principal Sales Broker at Norton Commons, said viewers will see the latest in homebuilding trends and sustainable building methods, timeless architecture, and beautiful interior design all in one walkable event.

“There will be a variety of home sizes and price points that feature something for everyone. It’s really a unique behind-the-scenes look at houses in Louisville’s fastest-growing neighborhood,” she said.

Patty Stewart, with builder Mason Construction and Development, noted in an email to Insider Louisville that some trends from a building perspective and some sustainability influences in the tour homes include: light color hardwood flooring in 80 percent of the home, wall and ceiling accents and wood and geometric wood details, free floating mirrors over vanities, a large, two-story uniquely shaped fireplace with porcelain tile and wood mantle accented with wood sculpture, minimalist trim package, cabinetry hardware that doubles as towel bars, organic shaped light fixtures, overscale windows, top glass front cabinet doors, and contemporary vertical metal staircase spindles.

What will viewers see in the tour homes that reflect the latest interior design trends? Graf said exciting features will include animal print rugs, the Pantone color of the year, living coral; succulents and greenery, organic shapes in lighting and wood sculptures, accent trims on textiles, Turkish tapestries, Pop Art, maximalist style of accessorizing, natural woven window coverings, and black ground walls.

Marilyn Patterson, Marketing Director for Norton Commons, said this Welcome Home Tour will demonstrate why Norton Commons continues to be one of the fastest-growing neighborhoods in the area. “The architecture and building features of the homes are trendy and on point, but also influence the way new homeowners will be able to interact with neighbors and the neighborhood itself. Homeowners are attracted by the beauty of the homes, but they stay because of the unique culture and the amazing bevvy of amenities offered by Norton Commons. It’s a whole experience.”
